Description

Welcome aboard LADY KADEY.  You will be happy you found her!

A spacious late-model Krogen 42 Widebody with the enviable center-line queen berth in the master stateroom and built-in dining settee.  Complete Awlgrip repaint and molded non-skid decks for low maintenance.  Reverse cycle A/C.  She is clean, warm and very welcoming!

Perfectly outfitted for the Great Loop, ICW or coastal cruising, with plenty of storage, low bridge clearance capability and excellent seakeeping. Carefully maintained and organized maintenance records.  Thoughtful upgrades throughout.

Bonus tip: The pride of ownership is evident right down her name, LADY KADEY.  Her owner is a descendant  of the late Art Kadey, co-founder of Kadey-Krogen Yachts.  Art collaborated with Jim Krogen to design the very first Krogen 42 model over forty years ago.  He would be proud of LADY KADEY today.

Showings by pre-arranged appointment  only.  Make it today and come see why LADY KADEY will be your next home at sea!

Full Specifications

Aft Deck, Saloon and Galley (Main Deck)

The Krogen 42 was our first raised pilothouse design, which features “split” decks from accommodation up to galley/saloon up to the pilothouse and ultimately to the flybridge. You will never travel more than a few stairs to get from one deck to another.

LADY KADEY features a fully covered aft deck, spacious enough to fit a table and chairs for outdoor entertaining. Outfitted with molded non-skid decks, with no worries about older screwed in teak. Access to the lazarette is through a floor hatch – great for storage. Access to the swim platform is through an aft cockpit door. The aft deck also features one of two access ladders to the top boat deck and fly bridge.

The widebody saloon is spacious and airy, entered through double doors from the aft deck. As you step in, there is a retractable screen door, perfect for keeping bugs out and breeze in. A comfortable dinette area with hi-lo flip-top dining table sits to starboard. Under the dining settee is drop down storage. To port are two Ekornes stressless chairs and additional cabinetry. Also to port and forward of the chairs is a large storage and shelving cabinet, complete with drop-down liquor bar – an updated cabinetry feature found on many Krogen 44s and 48s. For entertainment, the saloon area features a flat screen TV, Blu-ray player and stereo. New area carpeting protects the hardwood teak parquet flooring.

The galley is located in the forward starboard side of the saloon.  There is a large stainless-steel sink with Formica counter tops.  There is excellent storage both below the counter and above in overhead cabinets.  The galley has a three-burner Princess electric stove with oven along with an updated Norcold AC/DC refrigerator and freezer (2014). There is a built-in garbage bin and a Splendide Washer Dryer (2005).

Accommodations and Head (Lower Deck)

The lower deck features all accommodations and head. LADY KADEY has the desirable centerline queen berth in the master stateroom, which sits forward and flanked by large port and starboard lockers with automatic lighting. Large drawers are underneath the bed, as well as access to a bulk storage area. A forward dresser and mirror, wall sconce and overhead lighting, as well as an overhead hatch and four portlights complete this inviting master stateroom.

The guest stateroom/office is just aft of the master on the starboard side.  It has a desk with storage and an L-shaped settee which slides out to a double berth and a single drop-down pullman berth.  There is plenty of storage with drawers, open shelves and a hanging locker. Overhead and sconce wall lighting throughout. Two portlights.

A full head completes the lower deck and sits to port of the guest cabin/office. The head features a separate shower area, stainless steel basin, mirrored medicine cabinet, and Dometic electric flush extended bowl toilet (2014).

Pilothouse and Top Decks

Up two decks you will find a spacious, comfortable and functional pilot house with excellent sight lines, a broad helm station, an electronics and navigation hub, and full-size chart tables. She also features a teak and holly floor, a portable captain’s chair and a convertible settee, which pulls out to a double berth for additional guests or watch berth. The high bow of the Kadey-Krogen keeps you dry, while the pilothouse dutch doors, both port and starboard, can open half-way to allow fresh air inside – one of the favorite features while cruising a Kadey-Krogen. Two additional port lights sit aft.

The bow fore deck is a good working deck, flat with a bench seat against the pilot house and storage underneath.  New cushions on settee. Windlass and anchor access. Double-reinforced stainless-steel deck rails surround the boat for safety. There also are two boarding gates, port and starboard.

There is a companionway stairway to the top and flybridge decks on the port side. The flybridge deck has a mast with electric winches for lowering under bridges, electronics and flanking settee port and starboard of the centerline helm station, with storage underneath.
