Dear Krogen Enthusiast,
As we near the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the final stop of our fall 2016 show circuit, there has been a flurry of activity at Kadey-Krogen Yachts. As a result of the successful season, in the last month we have had eight brokerage vessels come under contract and have received Letters of Intent for two more Krogen 50′ Open orders.
Additionally, many of our staff also attended the annual Krogen Cruisers Rendezvous two weeks ago at Solomons Island, Maryland, where more than 35 Kadey-Krogens and 100 current and former owners gathered for nearly a week of seminars and good times.
Don’t let another season or opportunity pass you by. See you at FLIBS.

Let us know if you plan to attend the show. In two weeks, skip the lines by scheduling an appointment for a private tour of the Krogen 48′ AE and Krogen 52′ that we’ll have on display.

Besides owning a Kadey-Krogen yacht, owners of Krogens have lots in common with each other. A love for the water. The thrill of charting a course. Living aboard. Tinkering! Over the decades, multiple owner’s groups have formed and today the Kadey-Krogen family is more connected than ever before–and growing. Last month, the annual Pacific Northwest Krog-In Rendezvous happened in Anacortes, WA, and Dennis and Niki Rampe (owners of KK39 SCOOTER) have shared with us all that made this year’s event one for the books.
Last month the annual Pacific Northwest Krog-In was held at Cap Santa Marina in Anacortes, Washington. The event was well-attended with 27 boats and 68 people, and everyone enjoyed the weekend’s festivities. We were very pleased to see eight new Kadey-Krogen owners at the rendezvous who spent a lot of time with the “old timers” talking about boat handling, docking, electronics, and cruising destinations. It’s great to have refreshing energy in the Krogen family.
The fleet arrived in Anacortes on Thursday, September 15, and we celebrated with beverages and shared appetizers. Lots of old friends and new acquaintances.
Friday was our “work day” where Waggoner’s editor/publisher, Mark Bunzel, gave a two-hour presentation on Developing Your Go/No Go Weather Limits and What Happens When the Captain becomes Incapacitated. Mark spoke to a packed house who took lots of notes and asked plenty of questions.
Later in the afternoon, we held the ever-popular “Krogen Crawl” where owners open their boats for other owners to tour. This is always a fun event to see what others are doing differently and to look for projects. After a hard day’s work, we relaxed with a shared meal and door prizes for everyone (thanks to Kadey-Krogen Yachts)—all while listening to the live entertainment of local Anacortes performer Jack Hamilton. Bravo!
If you haven’t read or heard about the Hall’s 11,000-nautical mile journey, you should. On Saturday, Ron and Michelle gave a wonderful presentation with lots of photos from their Great Loop experience on their KK48 – SPIRIT JOURNEY. Together, they encouraged us all to get out of our comfort zones and experience America by water!
Brian Parr from S3 Maritime introduced some of the latest and greatest technology. Wow! In addition, he toured boats and was available for individual Q&A on any issues or concerns.
Last, but not least, we had our “Krogen Roundtable”, where owners shared best practices, new ideas, new problems, and much more. This is always one of our favorite times, as it allows people to open up and talk about their successes and failures while boating.
Besides preparing an agenda filled with seminars and hands-on learning, this Kadey-Krogen crowd has no problem planning a party. Oh, did I mention the frozen margarita machine? Strange as it seems, the noise level got louder and louder as the margaritas flowed and we devoured the delicious Mexican cuisine.
The fleet departed on Sunday in excellent weather and light winds. Thanks to everyone for making the 2016 PNW Krog-In a resounding success.
Since the last issue of NAVAID, the following Kadey-Krogen listings have changed hands. Make sure the Krogen of your dreams doesn’t slip away.
We’re actively seeking brokerage listings, and not just Kadey-Krogens. Consider listing with us.
