Description

Jim Krogen knew a little about cruising and living aboard when he designed the Kadey-Krogen 42. Mystic Moon is a perfect example of how a perfect trawler design coupled with caring owners can create a timeless trawler.  She has been lovingly maintained and upgraded over the years by very knowledgable owners.  Come see her and let her help you make your cruising dreams come true.  Her great condition makes her appear younger than her age.

Full Specifications

Construction

Hull is fiberglass sandwich construction using closed-cell PVC foam core. Closed-cell PVC foam does not deteriorate or absorb water. Fiberglass schedule uses heavy hand lay-up mat and roving. The composite structure serves both as a buoyancy material and shock, sound and temperature insulator. It rides quiet, increases impact strength and eliminates condensation build-up inside the hull. Decks and superstructure are fiberglass sandwich construction. Hull and topsides have been awl gripped and the teak is in excellent condition.

Saloon

Two teak doors off the covered aft deck lead you into the spacious saloon. To starboard is a custom teak and L shaped Ultraleather settee with extensive built in storage both behind and below.  The beautiful fold-out teak hi/lo table seats six when open.  A wet bar and a Uline ice maker make this saloon perfect for entertaining.  To port are two comfortable Ekornes Stressless chairs and a footstool.  There is an entertainment center area with a flat screen TV and a fold down teak shelf for a DVD player to port.  There is a large book case/storage area just forward of the saloon.  Opening windows with teak valances and custom curtains and blinds port and starboard keep the room light and airy.  There is also  a Phantom screen on the aft doors to allow fresh air and light.  The beautifully maintained teak parquet flooring throughout the boat creates a warm nautical feel.

Galley

The U-shaped galley is forward of the saloon and to the starboard.  An opening port lets in light and natural ventilation.  The appliances are conveniently arranged for cooking efficiently.  There is abundant storage in drawers and cabinets.  The major components are:

  • Sub Zero stand alone 5 cu ft refrigerator and 5 cu ft freezer units
  • Princess three burner stove with oven
  • GE microwave
  • Double stainless steel sink
  • Built in knife rack
  • Custom shelf for toaster/ convection oven
  • Teak fold down table at end of galley counter for additional counter space when needed
  • Overhead fluorescent for great lighting when cooking
  • Red light option for night time running to save night vision
  • Fire blanket
  • Two fire extinguishers
  • Manual bilge pump switch

Master Stateroom

The master stateroom is down three steps from the galley and is forward.  There is a double berth to starboard with small night stand and locker.  To port is a vanity/dresser and a very large double hanging locker.   Drawers under the bed and a compartment accessed under the custom made mattress provide a great deal of storage.   Custom shelves at the foot of the bed and on the starboard side provide a space for artwork or books.  A screened opening hatch and opening portholes provide abundant light and natural ventilation.

Master Head

The master head is ensuite forward of the stateroom.  It includes a large stall shower, vanity with custom lighting and a Raritan electric toilet.  There is very spacious storage as well as access to the anchor locker.

Guest Stateroom

The Guest stateroom is to the starboard.  It features a settee that converts to a larger berth, a single pullman berth on the forward bulkhead with a desk under it and extensive book shelves throughout.  There is cabinet and drawer storage as well as a large hanging locker.  Multiple port holes provide light and natural ventilation.

Guest Head

The guest head is located opposite the guest stateroom on the port side.  It features a large stall shower with opening port, vanity with medicine cabinet and a Raritan electric toilet.  Two opening ports provide plenty of light and ventilation.

Pilothouse

The pilothouse is up three steps from the saloon. It features an expansive helm area with large windows. The center window opens for ventilation. Screened Dutch doors to port and starboard can be completely opened for ventilation or half closed to secure the pilothouse while underway. The roomy Ultraleather berth converts to a double bed for guests wanting an incredible view.  A custom made teak table makes eating while at the helm possible.  This table removes to allow bed to be configured.  There are exterior window covers for pilothouse windows.

Flybridge

The flybridge features a center helm with flanking teak bench seats with storage under.  The second Furuno Navnet 3D display is relocated here from the pilothouse when needed.  The flybridge features a Venturi windshield to deflect wind up and over the helm.  There are two teak doors that open to storage under the helm.
