Full Specifications

Construction and Design

Solid hand laid PPG combo mat fiberglass below the waterline with closed cell P.V.C. sandwich core used above the waterline, in the topsides. End grained balsa-cored superstructure, pilothouse and boat deck. Core mat is also used to reduce print-through. Vinylester resin used in first two laminates below the waterline. Marine plywood bulkheads. Mahogany stringers and frames.

Design features that give a Krogen outstanding sea handling, efficiency and economy include:

  • True full-displacement hull form for sea kindliness and comfort
  • Soft chines reduce snap-roll and eliminate wave-slap at rest. Hydraulic stabilization provides a smooth comfortable ride.
  • End-to-end symmetry contributes to the Krogen's extremely efficient hull form. Very little power is needed to push the vessel through the water and they have excellent directional stability in following seas.
  • Full keel with attached rudder protecting the running gear.
