Sales Representative Jim Roos Joins Kadey-Krogen Yachts

Experienced and Enthusiastic Sales Representative Jim Roos Joins the Annapolis Office

The Kadey-Krogen Yachts sales staff in their Stuart, Annapolis, and Seattle offices are well versed in the process of buying and selling boats as well as the experience of going cruising. An important characteristic of each of the Kadey-Krogen Yachts sales representatives is that they can share firsthand experiences of being on the water with clients, they have a boating background that allows them to help educate customers, and they recognize and support the lifestyle that Kadey-Krogen customers seek.

The Annapolis office sales team now includes yet another highly qualified sales representative and seasoned boater. Jim Roos of Annapolis, Maryland, is the newest member of the Kadey-Krogen crew. Jim has been working in, on, and around the water all his life. He began his waterborne career with a swimming scholarship at the University of Florida and upon graduation he became one of the assistant coaches there. Eventually Jim moved to south Florida and established one of the premier competitive swim centers in the state. In the late 1970s a marina property development opportunity took him to Newport, Rhode Island, whereupon he established a sailboat race as a means of bringing notice to the community. That community was Goat Island and the race came to be known as the BOC Challenge, a singlehanded race around the world. When the race became fully managed by the BOC, Jim moved back to Florida and began to grow his skills as the consummate salesman.

Jim has over 11 years of marine sales experience to draw from and he is very familiar with a wide range of powerboats. He served as customer service manager for a large fish boat manufacturer, held the position of regional sales manager for another powerboat manufacturer, and has been general manager of a Florida marina and New England marine focused land development project. He moved to Annapolis 17 years ago where he began to help fulfill customeris dreams of cruising. In his previous sales positions Jim was instrumental in organizing owner rendezvous and special events that allow like-minded cruisers to share their passion for being on the water. Larry Polster, vice president of Kadey-Krogen Yachts, says iJimis enthusiasm for boating as well as his diverse knowledge of powerboats and boater demographics makes him a valuable asset to our Annapolis team and to the Kadey-Krogen crew.i

Jim played an active role in the spring Kadey-Krogen Yachts Open House in Annapolis and is becoming a familiar face at Trawler Fest events. He will be on board the Kadey-Krogen display at boat shows this fall including the Sept. 17-20 Newport, Rhode Island event; Trawler Fest in Solomons, Maryland, Oct. 2-4; and at the U.S. Powerboat Show in Annapolis, Oct. 15-18. Jim Roos can be reached at or 800.247.1230.
