Seagoing Comfort, Family-Size
While as salty as they come, the Krogen 42′ trawler yacht was thoughtfully planned for privacy, with easy and congenial tri-level living. Practical aspects are integrated with ingenious features to ensure that pleasure trips are truly pleasurable.
The saloon is bright and airy with sliding picture windows for sightseeing and sea gazing even while comfortably seated. The galley is open to the saloon and full of convenience. Quarters below decks include a private master head with shower, and guest head also with shower. In every detail from bow to stern, The Krogen 42′ trawler yacht reflects quality and caring.
The hull and cabin sides of the Krogen 42′ were built of ï¬berglass sandwich construction with closed-cell PVC foam core; heavy hand lay-up using mat and roving. This construction remains one of the most enduring and safest afloat. (Closed-cell PVC foam core does not deteriorate or absorb water.) The composite structure serves both as a buoyancy material and shock, sound and temperature insulator. It rides quiet, increases impact strength and eliminates condensation build-up inside the hull.
Decks were built of a ï¬berglass sandwich construction with end-grain balsa core. The main deck offered a teak overlay and the boat deck was molded with a non-skid surface. (A teak overlay was available at the purchaser’s option.)
All joinery work, paneling, cabinetry, and beam caps were of ï¬ne teak. Countertops were topped with Formica. All lockers and closets were lined with teak veneer and Formica.
